An original and rare helmet plate of the 108th Madras Infantry Regiment. Circa 1878-1881.
101 x 123 mm. Gilding metal construction star and crown helmet plate. Two laurel wreathes, at the base a scroll "CENTRAL INDIA", centrally mounted strap inscribed "MADRAS INFANTRY", the centre with numerals 108 on wine coloured velvet backing.
