An original and scarce piper' plaid brooch badge of The Royal Highland Regiment (Black Watch). Victorian era.
90 mm, die cast metal, silver plated. A wreath of thistles surmounted by sphinx over 'Egypt' battle honour, within a circlet inscribed "Nemo Me Impune Lacessit", to the centre St. Andrew and saltire. Stout pin to the reverse.
Very good condition.
