An original officer's helmet plate of The East Surrey Regiment. Circa 1904-14 pattern
110 x 127 mm. Gilt metal and silver construction star and crown helmet plate. A laurel wreath, at the base a scroll "THE EAST SURREY REGT", centrally mounted strap inscribed "HONI SOIT QUI MAT Y PENSE", the centre with East Surrey Regimental insignia (arms of Guildford), on black coloured velvet backing.
Some light rubbing of the gilt finish. Very good condition.
