A pair of original French Army Grenadier officer's shoulder epaulettes. Probably Lieutenant grade. Second Republic.
Each approx. 20 x 13 cm. In gold ribbed cloth and trimmings, composed of an epaulette with soft bullion wire fringes and a counter-epaulette. Dark blue/black cloth lining. Each with a gilded brass button stamped with a flaming bomb. Mounted slider maker marked G.G.LYON.
Surface discolouration, moth nip to reverse wool linings. The edge lining itself has come unstitched in places.
