An original French issue commemorative medal for the victories at Montebello, Palestro, Magenta, Marignan, and Solferino, fought in 1859 during the Second Italian War of Independence.

23 mm stamped bronze, maker marked, obverse featuring the busts of Napoleon III & Victor Emmanuel II. Reverse "VICTOIRES DE MONTEBELLO, PALESTRO, MAGENTA, MARIGNAN, SOLFERINO" Age tones, light edge and surface contact marks, period button Italian tri-color ribbon.

Campaign: Part of the Second Italian War of Independence, a conflict in which France and the Kingdom of Sardinia (Piedmont) allied to drive out the Austrian Empire from Northern Italy.
