An original commemorative medal of the Prussian Empire. Jointly issued by both the Austro-Hungarian and Prussian Empires. Awarded to combatants of the Second Schleswig War against Denmark in 1864.
29 mm width. Bronze construction from captured cannons. Front with monograms of both emperors. Rear inscribed ""UNSERN TAPFERN KRIEGERN 1864" ("For our brave warriors 1864".), with laurel wreath. Rim engraved "Aus erobertem Geschütz" (From captured cannon).
