Original WW2 German Anschluss Medal (Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 13. März 1938), awarded to commemorate the annexation of Austria into the German Reich.

Struck in bronze with a silvered finish, featuring a man symbolically pulling a man onto a podium adorned with the German eagle and swastika. Reverse reads "13. März 1938" within a wreath.

Medal retains good detail with some age patina, and comes with its original ribbon, typically in red with white and black stripes. A significant historical piece from the early Third Reich period.

The Anschluss Medal was instituted on 1 May 1938 to commemorate the annexation of Austria into Nazi Germany on 13 March 1938. It was awarded to German and Austrian personnel who contributed to or supported the political union. As part of a series of early Third Reich commemorative awards, the medal symbolizes a major step in Germany’s territorial expansion prior to the outbreak of World War II.
