Authentic Soviet Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd Class, issued to Ivan Andreevich Ruban in 1985. This medal and award booklet were presented on the 40th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII), by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. The decoration features the classic five-pointed red enamel star with silver rays, crossed sabre and rifle, and hammer and sickle to the center.
The accompanying citation document (№ Ж 256985) includes the full name of the recipient and original ink serial number of the medal (№ 6155485), with official stamp and facsimile signature. This set is an excellent, researchable veteran attribution piece and a valuable addition to any Eastern Front or Soviet militaria collection.
Only a small crack in the enamel above the hammer head detracts.
