An extremely fine and very rare pairing; an original cavalry officer's Sabretache or pouch cypher - VR (Victoria Regina). Silver, hallmarked: Birmingham 1859 (K), maker JB (Joseph Bent). Three threaded mount posts to the reverse, 2 closure nuts. 69.5 mm x 61.5 mm. Along with the matching officer's pouch belt plate, 70 x 91 mm, backing plate and closure nuts present, includes the same hallmarks and most likely produced concurrently. Fine condition.
