A fine example of a vintage German Fire Brigade (Feuerwehr) parade helmet badge, likely dating from the early 20th century to the early Third Reich era (c. 1900s–1930s). These large, ornate front plates were typically mounted to the front of ceremonial or dress helmets worn by civic and volunteer firefighters.

Crafted in cast metal alloy, the badge features:

  • A central motif of a traditional German fireman’s helmet and crossed axes, with original gilt finish still visible.

  • Raised banners bearing the classic fire brigade motto:
🕊 "GOTT ZUR EHR, DEM NÄCHSTEN ZUR WEHR!"
(To God the Honor, to the Neighbor the Protection!)

  • Original mounting pins to the reverse, confirming it as a helmet badge rather than a wall plaque.

  • Good patina consistent with age; no cracks or structural damage. Two pin mount holes top and bottom.

These badges were most commonly used on black or silver parade helmets by local brigades across Germany. Generally fine condition.
