A 1916 - 1918 issue Austrian Empire Iron Cross of Honour (Verdienstkreuz). 36 mm width, two-piece joined iron cross, on ribbon of the Austrian style. The surface of the award has superficial pitting marks and discolouration, quite common for this award with it being iron construction without a surface finish.
