A rare, original, officer’s cap badge of the Isle of Wight Rifles, cast in silver with excellent detail. Worn approximately 1908-1917.
The badge features the crowned circlet bearing the unit title “Isle of Wight Rifles, Princess Beatrice’s” surrounding a stylized coastal tower, emblematic of the regiment’s coastal defense role. Maker marked J&Co (Jennens & Co.). The rear of the crown stamped "S".
This finely made example was likely produced for a dress uniform and shows honest age and patina. The rear lugs remain intact and well-formed.
