An original Princess Mary gift tin. As gifted by the Princess Mary fund, to all serving soldiers, sailors, and support workers on Christmas Day 1914.
13 x 8.5 x 3 cm pressed brass tin. Gilded finish. The lid embossed with the bust of Princess Mary. Bordered by decoration and the name of the Allied countries during 1914. Also included is the original photocard image of King George V that came with the tin. The card has been cut in half, removing the image of Princess Mary. The reverse showing half of the associated message. This is scarce to find.
The tin is very lightly dented and marked. The lid closes tightly to the tin. A very good example.
