An original and rare French Air Force (Aeronautique Militaire) officer's Kepi cap eagle. A French private purchase badge in the art nouveau style. Worn by aviators before standardised insignia was introduced. Typically worn in the early war years.
74 mm wingspan. Bronze alloy construction. Reverse with folding clasp and ball catch. No visible maker marks. Very good condition.
