Original 1939–1945 War Medal, awarded to British and Commonwealth forces in recognition of full-time service during the Second World War. Made of cupro-nickel, this campaign medal features the crowned effigy of King George VI on the obverse and a lion standing over a fallen dragon on the reverse.
Issued unnamed, this example includes the correct period ribbon with red, white, and blue stripes symbolising the Union Jack. A staple of WW2 medal groups.
