A pair of original officer's uniform rank shoulder boards of a pioneer/engineer officer in the German Army (Deutsches Heer). Sew on type cut from uniform, silver wire thread banding on black wool backing, complete with rank stars and numerals 51 (51st regiment), rank of Hauptmann (Captain).Light surface stains, one gilt numeral and a star colour faded.
