WW2 Royal Air Force Pilot Officer Uniform Service Tunic
A fine and original Second World War tunic tailored for a Flying Officer of the Royal Air Force.
Constructed in high-grade blue wool, the tunic retains its original circular gilded brass buttons and exhibits excellent wartime tailoring. Each arm cuff with Flying Officer rank tape. The under cuffs of this jacket modified with leather pads. Suggesting this pilot wore this jacket extensively and the modifications to preserve the life of the tunic. The pilot wings are of the padded type.
The uniform is in good condition given it's age and service life. The internal cotton liner has unstitched in some places. There are minor surface stains and holes. Thread losses and rubbing on the pilot wings.
A superb original piece of WW2 British pilot uniform, ideal for collectors of R.A.F. militaria, re-enactors, or displays.
