This is an original WWII-era glengarry cap badge of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada, one of the most distinguished Highland regiments in the Canadian Army.
The badge is die-struck in white metal, and features a stag’s head with the intertwined “L” cypher of King George V or VI, surmounted by a King’s crown. The scroll below bears the Gaelic regimental motto “CUIDICH ‘N RIGH”, meaning Aid the King, a proud call to loyalty and heritage.
This badge was worn on the glengarry, a traditional Scottish side cap, during the Second World War. The Seaforths served with distinction in Sicily, Italy, and Northwest Europe.
