WWII Royal Canadian Engineers Cap Badge

This is an original Second World War brass cap badge for the Royal Canadian Engineers, the vital support corps of the Canadian Army responsible for field fortifications, mobility, demolitions, and construction during active service.

The badge features a prominent George VI royal cypher (GvR) at center, encircled by the motto of the Order of the Garter:
“Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense” — Shame to him who thinks evil of it
